7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Beginner SIG @ Senior Center Computer Room ( Special Interest Group (SIG) )

New to computing? Okay, this is the place to come if you're new to computers.

Arlene Kapner will be teaching Beginning Computers in 4-week cycles. The cycles take place on 4 consecutive on alternate months. Participants will learn how to format a page, write a letter and create a letterhead using MS Word; how to create and organize files and folders; create tables and columns; save to a floppy disk/CD; and a host of other skills using the most common selections on the menus. Those who are interested must sign up prior to the next class. There will be a limit of 12 participants. Email the webmaster if you want to get in touch with her.

We meet at 7 pm on Monday's at the Senior Center, from 7-9 pm of the Olympia Center, in the computer room on the second floor behind that Boutique. See the driving directions.

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Digital Imaging @ Capitol High School ( Special Interest Group (SIG) )

 

A great place to bring your digital imaging questions.

From PhotoShop to scanning with all stops in between. The Digital Imaging SIG will deal with using a scanner, the development of graphical art for Web pages and desktop publishing programs and other graphics related issues, irrespective of type of computer or software applications.
This SIG is led by John Gerecht. He will be happy to hear about what you would like to discuss. You can contact him through the Reflector.
We usually meet at 7:00 pm on the second Monday of the month. July and August sometimes finds us in a different place due to the summer break. Watch for a Reflector reminder as to time and place for our July and August meetings

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Microsoft Windows SIG meets @ Senior Center Computer Room: No Meeitng !! It's Thanksgiving !! ( Special Interest Group (SIG) )

 

Collective wisdom is the key. This SIG discusses aspects of the various Microsoft Windows operating systems. We explore and demonstrate solutions for Windows 98 and Windows XP at the SIG. This is the place to share your Windows problems and solutions with the group and we all gain! Normally meets on the month’s fourth Thursday at 7pm in the computer room (2nd floor behind the boutique) of the Olympia Senior Center 222 Columbia St NW, Olympia.

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM Newsletter Folding Party ( Arlene's House ) ( Newsletter Folding Party )

 

This group meet usually on the last day of the month to assemble the OMUG Newsletter for mailing to our members. We usually meet at 2 pm, and with many hands the folding takes about an hour. The location for the gathering varies, so watch the Reflector for directions. This only takes about an hour to do, and it is a fun group of computer folks to be with. Basically, we fold our newsletter and prepare them for mailing.
