Smart Computing visit to OMUG

Smart Computing hit the road this spring (2003) and stopped by to see the Olympia Microcomputer User Group!
Smart Computing magazine has been a respected computing resource for computer users for years.  Their mission is to help users of all skill levels improve their PC-related productivity. It was a fun and dynamic evening with the Smart Computing folks and we learned everything you need to know about Smart Computing and more, including all of the Smart Computing Membership benefits: the monthly issue of the magazine, all facets of the Smart Computing website, and the Smart Computing & CPU User Group Program.  Plus, all attendees received a free issue of Smart Computing!
Smart Computing is a monthly computer magazine designed to help users of all skill levels improve their PC-related productivity.  In each issue of the magazine, you will find dozens of features, columns, reviews, and tips & tricks to help you become a more efficient computer user.  The different sections of the magazine include:  Focus On, Reviews,  PC Operating Instructions, General Computing,  Plugged In,  PC Project,  Quick Studies, www.SmartComputing.com   Tidbits,  Tech Support, and Each Month With Smart Computing you can stay up-to-date on the latest products and trends, solve troubleshooting problems, perform PC tasks, utilize software programs, enhance your online time, learn tips and tricks, and much more. Smart Computing is your ultimate computing and technology resource!
One of the goals at Smart Computing is to provide readers with as much information as possible, in a user-friendly format.  This is exactly what we have accomplished with the Smart Computing Web site: http://www.SmartComputing.com/.
Smart Computing has archived information on SmartComputing.com to compile an editorial archive of more 17,000 articles!  Numerous tools exist on the site that allow members access to this information and more, including:  *Search Engine, *Question & Answer Board, *Dictionary,  *Chat Rooms, *Daily Tips & Terms, *Product Reviews,  *Online Access to Learning Series, Reference Series, and CPU.
At the OMUG general meeting we learned where to find each of these features, and how to use them.
Smart Computing has a User Group Program that is designed to benefit user groups!  They devised a plan that will deliver the most viable information available, plus give user groups the opportunity to earn free subscriptions to Smart Computing and CPU.  Here’s how it works, for every 5 paid subscriptions  received from a group, they give that group a free membership!  These free memberships can be used as door prizes, raffles or gifts to promote participation and attendance at group meetings.
